(established in 1960), owns one of the largest fleets of lattice-boom crawler crane and attachments in the world. Essex positions itself as the #1 North American "bare" crawler crane rental company. With a focus on higher capacity cranes, lifting an average of 230 rated tons, Essex's 350 cranes and attachments are used in construction and maintenance projects related to power generation, petro-chemical, refineries, water treatment and purification, bridges, highways, hospitals, shipbuilding, offshore oil fabrication, industrial plants, and commercial construction.
Essex Rental Corp. was formerly Hyde Park Acquisition Corp. which was incorporated on August 21, 2006, as a blank check company. The Company was formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition or other similar business combination with an operating business. In October 2008, it completed the acquisition of Essex Holdings LLC and its operating subsidiary, Essex Crane Rental Corp.
